The text is an interview with Manuel de Solá Morales who exposes his thoughts about urban planning. In this interview, it can be understood as a critical analysis of the current architectural questioning the architects who intend to build spaces as isolated objects. The author makes constructive criticisms about cities in their general context from his own experience, since he has been very important in Barcelona. The skin of the cities is a fundamental aspect for Solà Morales, how we establish contact with the city leads to magnify the material of the city, the skin.

The urban planner also talks about the corners as places of social encounter that could become interesting spaces if we give him the importance that they should have and not despise the corners. He also comments on an "architectural movement" very developed nowadays, the commercial architecture, where one only seeks to deceive the spectator momentarily, or prestige and superiority.

Finally, he talks about tourism as a plague that transforms the atmosphere of cities. Occasionally the citizen feels marginalized with respect to the tourist, but also tourism gives value to the city and vitalizes and empowers it. That is why there is finding the balance between City-Citizen-Tourist that benefits all parties.De Solà-Morales talks about some factors that are worth reflecting on: the sense of belonging, the city belongs to people, since it would not be a city without them; Interculturality and diversity make cities more interesting and exciting places.
