Our project focuses on the connection between Maracena and Granada through activities. The project is composed of two residential developments: on the Maracena side, a cohousing project along with a larger residential complex conceived as a small town; and on the Granada side, large residential buildings that reinforce the urban density of the city.
As part of the cultural and sports route, we also rehabilitated an existing ruin and transformed it into a museum, while creating an exhibition space that marks the end of a large public avenue. The ground floors of the surrounding housing blocks accommodate galleries that extend and activate this major promenade.
We also designed a major sports facility beneath the highway, including both covered and open-air spaces. This new public and athletic area transforms the space beneath the infrastructure into an active urban link, reconnecting Maracena and Granada through leisure, movement, and collective activities.
