Description

The project is located on Malmö’s former naval area to ensure continuity with the site’s industrial and maritime history, which once played a key role in the city’s economic development. Currently undergoing transformation, the site connects directly with neighborhoods hosting businesses, educational facilities, and housing, providing a strong urban context. Rectangular building forms echo existing port infrastructures, offering a clear reading of the landscape and a balanced integration into the urban fabric. Environmental strategies are central to the project, including green roofs, the conversion of mineral surfaces into green spaces, and soil decontamination to support biodiversity. The redevelopment of the waterfront creates an accessible public space and strengthens the relationship with water. Mixed residential and economic functions ensure continuous activity, contributing to a lively and sustainable neighborhood rooted in its naval past.
